An unusal day for stuart | dreamlover2 | 1

Stuart Bartholomew is a 20-year-old College kid, who is as rare as they come. He combines athleticism with intelligence, being a Science Whiz, especially when it comes to Chemistry. He's so advanced to the rest of his class that he's allowed to conduct his own experiments.

One day he’s playing "Mad Scientist", as he likes to call it when doing his own experiments, Stuart decides that he needs more chemicals and heads for the storage cabinet. As he has a brilliant mind, he is absent minded and so engrossed in what he's doing that he fails to notice the small pool of liquid that someone has spilled right in front of the cabinet.

As he pulls on the door, he steps in the pool of chemicals and loses his balance. In his effort to keep his footing, he holds onto the door for support. His eyes widen as he feels the cabinet give way and as in slow motion, he watches the cabinet falling over him. The sound of breaking glass beakers fills his ears as they smash all around him. Smoke fills his nostrils as some of the chemicals combine. The last thing he remembers is his throat and nose burning, a sudden painful throbbing in his head, then blackness.

He opens his eyes and as looks around him, he sees that he's in a hospital room, a nurse nearby checking on beeping instruments. He lets out a deep breath, which catches the nurse's attention. She immediately hits the intercom button and calls for a doctor, hurrying toward him as he tries to sit up. She smiles, telling him to relax, the doctor rushes in as her strong hands pushing on his shoulders to lay him back down.

"How are you feeling?", the doctor asks, a look of concern on his face.

"Okay, I guess, I must have blacked out. How did I get here?" asked Stu looking at the doctor.

"By ambulance of course", the doctor responds, "and as for blacking out, you surely did that, a month ago. You've given us quite the scare, young man

"A MONTH!" Exclaims Stuart,

His face now was now showing the shock he was feeling, and if it weren't for the combined strength of the doctor and the nurse holding him down, he would have leaped out of bed.

"Just try to relax son", the doctor says calmly, easing up on the pressure of his pressing hands, "I know it's a shock to you, but I wasn't really all that worried about you. Your vital signs were always strong while you were comatose". The look of concern leaves his face. " Now just lie still for a bit and let us check you out, okay? Then you have visitors." The doctor’s smile broadens, " Your family have been here every day, and they never gave up hope. I know they'll be very happen to see you awake again"
