I stack some food and snacks on my plate and walk back out to the music. The party at the moment is pretty tame. Mom is talking with both the Reverend and the butcher and looking rather uncomfortable. Although they look concerned I can see they will both let her explain things in her time whatever those things may be. Then I get a vision of both of them doing mom and shake my head thinking as if that could happen.
Before I can settle down in a chair Betty Lou is back, she is small breasted, thin as a rail, with curly shoulder length red hair. Her skin is covered in freckles and she is always giggly around me.
My sister sees us and walks over embracing her friend in a girl hug and then hugging me. There you two are, my best friends forever!
"Hey sis" I say with a knowing smile which has Betty Lou looking from one of us to the other.
"If I did not know better, I would say you two are up to no good" Betty Lou says.
We both laugh and each take one of her hands causing her to get a real serious look on her face.
"What are you two up to?" she asks sounding a little worried now and looking unsure of herself as she bites her lower lip.
"Want to play truth or dare" my sister asks her?
"With you two" Betty Lou asks back?
"There you are" exclaims my old friend from school.
Bubba walks up and lifts my sister off the ground in a bear hug and smiles at Betty Lou. "Hey Betty" he says with a wink at her which makes her blush. Then he sits my sister down.
"Betty was just inviting us to a game of truth and dare" I say to him watching her try and fall into herself in fear.
"Cool" he says then swats my sister as the ass, "go get me a beer sweet cheeks."
My sister squeals and leaves us there in silence as we all measure each other up, all of knowing this is not going to be the innocent kind of game we might have played two years ago.
My sister returns with the beer and hands one to him and one to Betty Lou and then leads us down the hall to her room. |
