Taking her by the hand you gently explain to your sister what happened by turning her around so that she can see the poor souls who have all lost their lives in the tragic accident. It isn’t long before she spins back around pulling herself tight against you and burying her face in your chest as she weeps openly. You whisper words of comfort and reassurance in her ear but, just as you start to get her calmed down you both hear something that makes your skin tingle.
The computer voice had finished listing off all the errors for the sleep pods but it had listed the last one as active still. Number five hundred and fifty one it had said but, you knew as well as that there should only be five hundred and fifty pods. Not sure if an extra passenger was added without your knowledge or if something else is going on you both throw caution to the wind and take off running down the row of stasis beds towards the end and the mysterious number five fifty one. As you get closer to the bed you wonder what you will find. |
