"And you're willing to carry my husband's child?" Sandy asked.
"Yes. A...are you...you know..." Kathryn stuttered.
"Carry Bryan's?" Sandy finished, then smiled at Kathryn.
Sandy hugged Kathryn tighter to her. Dipping her head forward she gave Kathryn her answer with a long kiss.
Sandy looked in Kathryn's eyes. "For you. For all of us, I will carry Bryan's child," she said. "But if you think there's some way for us...I'd rather carry ours. Yours and mine."
"I hear it's a little icky, the drugs they put you on to do the egg harvesting," Kathryn said. "But we wouldn't have to do it at exactly the same time."
"Do you think that would stop me?" Sandy asked. Her determined expression softened a bit. "But I wouldn't want to hurt you, going through it."
"Oh, Sandy," Kathryn said. She hugged Sandy tight and kissed her. "I would."
"But if it doesn't make sense for me to have your baby," Sandy said. "I like your plan. And I think it makes sense the way you said, for you and Bryan to move out our way. I'm sure Peter wants to keep getting together with Gary for 'guy stuff', and it'll be easier if we're close. And Peter's mom and dad, well, it's still a secret, but they're going to do the same thing with Gary's mom and dad. Minus, um, the babies thing. So they would totally understand what we're doing."
Sandy cleared her throat. "I'm on board with your dream for us. But I can think of one reason why things might not work out quite the way you dream. For you to have Peter's baby. I mean, aside from fate and all that stuff."
"Why?" Kathryn asked.
