"Account of Courtney & Jeremy | Imhotep | 13

Pushing up from the couch, and moved towards Kathryn. As she began to walk towards the hallway, Jasmine felt her cell vibrate at her hip. From more of a conditioned response than any real interest, Jasmine slipped the small phone from its holster, and flipped it open. It was Amy, the illustrator for her book.

Amy was one of the best in the business as far as Jasmine was concerned. She'd seen the vivacious redhead's drawings back when they both attended Widley College. Most of the stuff she'd seen then was erotic, if not outright pornographic, and almost all of it was of renderings of her latest lover, one night stand or someone she was lusting over. Most of the pencil and water color pieces that Jasmine had seen were of Amy's blond and, as she remembered, somewhat naive roommate. She and Amy didn't really know each other too well back then, other than by reputation, and a couple of mutual friends.

Ten years after graduation, Amy's work hung in some of the most exclusive galleries and on the covers of magazines like the New Yorker, Rolling Stone and The Atlantic. She was a highly sought photographer as well, specializing in portraits of stars, athletes and politicians done in a style that was uniquely hers. Her success brought her money, and that made it possible to travel when and where she like without worry, and to live the lifestyle she chose without having to conform. Amy had never been, and would never be a conformist.

Jasmine pushed the talk button, and Amy's sultry voice filtered into her ear. "So, Jas where are you? Id like to show you what Ive done with you're ideas so far, and I want to take Steph with me out of New York for a while, and if I can get a hold of her and bribe her with some tickets on my dime get Ellen to meet us for the weekend...maybe more if I can convince her."

Amy tended to sometimes talk about the people in her life as if they all knew each other, which at least in Jasmines case, she did not. She had no idea who Steph or Ellen were. But the prospect of seeing Amy and what she'd done with Jasmines rough draft manuscript excited her.

"Id love to see you!" she blurted out without thinking. Kathryn looked back in her direction looking slightly puzzled. Jasmine foresaw an explanation to Kathryn, and possibly everyone else.

"Where are you? Steph and I will fly to wherever you are, you can just sit tight." Jasmine heard the whir of an old fashioned camera motor advancing film. Amy was most likely taking picture as they spoke.

Jasmine explained that she was at the home of a mutual friend from their Widley days, and she wasn't sure if shed be staying with Kathryn and her family, or if her and Carissa would be staying in town. She then told Amy of her and Carissa's news and the two talked for several minutes more before getting back to discussing a possible meeting.

"Look, thats not to far by air hun, and Steph is my personal assistant. Shes a whiz at finding the best flight times with the most direct routes. Id love to see you again, and maybe if Carissa's willing we might." Amy laughed. "Well who knows?"

"It all sounds good to me. I just have to get a few things sorted out here. Why don't you see what you can find in town to stay, and I'll call you back as soon as I can." Jasmine said as she mouthed the words 'I'm sorry' to Kathryn as she finished her call. Kathryn shook her head, giving Jasmine a friendly smile.

"Kay that will give me time to give Ellen a call and see if I can convince her to see me. I haven't seen her in nearly two years."

"Alright. Talk to you later. Love you." Jasmine replied, realizing as she hung up that Amy's roommate, the blond naïve one had been called Ellen.

"So, lets start again, and Ill tell you all about the call after we talk." Jasmine said as she followed Kathryn down the hall.

What do Jasmine and Kathryn discuss? And what happens with Amy's travel plans?
