Lisa thought it over. Lisa stood against the kind of oppression that the Black Lynchers represented, so her fist instinct was to say no, but it occurred to her that this could be an excellent opportunity to learn enough about them from the inside to eventually bring them down. She could probably even make a lot of money doing it.

"Why should I?" she asked, not wanting to sound to eager.

"We half run this town. Soon we'll more than half run it. What side of things do you want to be on?"

"I don't know. Where's your leader?"

This concession towards his offer caused a wave of murmur from the crowd behind. Lisa could hear them stepping back from her a little.

"He's not in town right now, but we can take you to him."

Lisa walked over to her horse and mounted it. "Lead the way"

They lead her out of town, riding until they were about a mile out, before stopping.

"Now, of course, we can't let you know exactly how to get to our hideout if you're not a committed member yet." The man pulled a thick, black hood from a sack on his horse and tossed it to her. Another man rode right next to her and took the reigns of her horse.

Lisa hesitated, then took off her hat and put the hood over her head. She was going to have to take some risks.

Did Lisa just make a mistake?

          Perhaps...
