You listen to the Anevorian's raspy speech quietly but finally you ask, "So what's my part in this?"

You reach the door and find that it is locked. Well, not exactly. It seems to have some enchantment on it so that you can't even turn the handle. As you rattle desperately at the door, you hear the Anevorian's footsteps behind you. He moves pretty quietly for such a big creature. You jump as he lays his hard, knobbly hand on your bare shoulder.
He says, "And after the deed is done you will be free to go. You'll never see me or hear from me again, unless of course you happen to interfere with my business, and you don't want that. But you WILL help me ruin the Sons of Davelon. I have many interesting ways of ensuring your compliance, some more unpleasant than others. Don't make me pick a nasty one." |
