"Account of Courtney & Jeremy | tantrikenetic | 5

Jeremy sat there staring at the wall for a few more minutes. How had the day done a 180 so quickly? One moment he's on top of the world and the next he's crushed beneath it. He pounded his fist into his leg angrily. Dammit! He knew that oral sex lesson would come back to bite him in the ass!

"I need to do something special for Courtney." Jeremy decided out loud and stood up quickly. He immediately headed out the front door and jumped the fence into his neighbor's yard. Sure enough, a black-haired classmate was sitting cross-legged under an oak tree, a laptop in his lap and headphones in his ears.

"Hey, Adam!" Jeremy yelled, loud enough to disturb him. Adam looked up, pushing his glasses closer to his face so he could see properly. When he saw Jeremy headed his way, he smiled and took off the headphones.

"Well, well. What's going on, Jer?" He asked.

"What are you doing out here, man?" Jeremy looked at the latop and followed the long extension cord that plugged the computer into a socket on the side of the house.

"I'm programming my Digital DJ program for Carla's party tonight. Then I've got some freelance website work my idiot client wants done today. I have to undo the horrible mess he made of my Javascript code." He sighed. "It's not easy being a geek, Jeremy."

"I'll take your word for it." Jeremy waved him off. "Why are you outside though? Wouldn't it be easier to work inside?"

"Fresh air helps me think." Adam responded, going back to his work.

"Adam, I need your help." Jeremy said, not wanting to wait any longer.

"Ain't that the theme of the day." Adam sighed.

"Look, if you're too busy..."

"Oh, shut up and sit down." Adam looked up for a second. "I swear you are the most wishy-washy jock I've ever met." Jeremy laughed and sat down next to him. "So what's the problem?"

"It's Courtney."

"Oh...THAT kind of problem." Adam sat the laptop down on the grass and turned to him. "So what's the issue?"

"I need your help to find a way to apologize to her. Something really spectacular this time."

"Oh, Jesus." Adam pinched the bridge of his nose. "What did you do this time, Jeremy?"

"She found out about me and Sharon."

"Oh, shit." Adam said, eyes widening. "How did..."

"Sharon told her." Jeremy sighed.

"Something really spectacular, then." Adam agreed.

"Yeah. It needs to be amazing. She sounded so hurt...so betrayed on the phone. It broke my heart to hear her, man."

"Wait...she sounded betrayed? Not angry that you fooled around with her friend, but like genuinely betrayed?"

"Yeah."

"Awesome!" Adam exclaimed grinning. Jeremy shot him an angry and confused glare.

"Adam, you're my friend. But you better explain yourself real damn quick or we are going to have to exchange some words AND some fists."

"Don't you see, Jeremy? She has feelings for you!" Adam placed his hands on his friend's shoulders and shook him lightly.

"I really think she's just upset I went down on her friend." Jeremy shook his head.

"Don't be an idiot!" Adam practically yelled. "I know it's your default state of being, but for once in your life open your eyes, dammit! This is that giant celestial hint you've been waiting for!"

"Adam, I don't know. I mean I..."

"Shhh, shut up!" Adam hushed him, his gaze drifting off into space. "I'm already envisioning this."

"Envisioning what?" Jeremy asked. "Adam, you scare me when you smile like that."

"The way to apologize to Courtney AND confess your feelings to her!" Adam grinned. "It's pure genius!"

"I really don't think this is a good idea." Jeremy replied, but it had fallen on deaf ears.

"I got it!" Adam said cheerfully. "I got just the idea! Oh man, Jeremy! This is so beyond perfect! We need to get to work!"

"We? Wait, hold on!" Jeremy spoke up. "What about all your work? What about your client?"

"Fuck 'em! He's a douchebag." Adam waved his hand dismissively. "What's more important, is that by the end of the night, you and Courtney are finally going to be-" he quickly pushed his hands together and entwined his fingers. "-like this!"

Jeremy watched his friend's wild grin for a few seconds, then spoke up. "Can I at least know what the plan is first?"

What's the plan?
