You feel it deep within yourself; the first wall of resistance crumbling against the powerful onslaught of sheer terror that is threatening to overpower you. It starts in the pit of your stomach slowly oozing outward filling up every part of you. Then just as it is about to overtake you completely you feel something. Your eyes which you had shut tightly against the fear pop open as a warm feeling of happiness sweeps through you banishing even the memory of the terrible things that had only seconds ago been about to undo your mind. There is white light all around you surrounding you, embracing you, penetrating you to the very depths of your soul. Happiness is all you know your mind is incapable of knowing anything else.
Long before you see it you sense the approach of the one responsible for your timely rescue. You can see in your mind’s eye the smooth white skin covering his powerful muscles, his shining mane of long white hair flowing gently as he runs. As his presence grows closer the light around you begins to lessen letting you see more and more of your surroundings and, letting new thoughts unclouded by fear or sorrow to enter your mind.
The last of the light dissipates as he appears at the edge of the path. His deep and powerful eyes appraise more than just your outward appearance. His gaze pierces you searching the very depths of your being as he slowly steps onto the path. You can’t help but reach out as he steps closer to you. Running your hand along his neck you can feel the power contained within this creatures body. Your hand finds its way to the horn on the top of the unicorn’s head stroking it softly as he lets out a contented whinny.
