„It was no mistake. In that moment it felt so right.“ she said to me, still looking straight into my eyes. Her voice was strong and confident, not a hint of doubt.

Now it was my turn to stand there speechless.

„The last few weeks I felt so close to you. Everything was right, everything was easy. I love you since you truly knew who I was, but on our trip down here I realized that even after a year seeing each other every day I still wanted to be with you as much as possible.“ the words bubbled out of her mouth like a waterfall.

In my head I knew what she was talking about. There was not a single day I wished she wouldn't be gay. But I managed to bury these thoughts, because she was too important to me and I didn't want to risk that my romantic feelings would leave her no choice but to push me away.

„When we were up there I caught myself looking over to you and I imagined how it would be to have sex with someone who means so much to me. I wanted it. I wanted you, . When you came over to me I was so happy.“

I realized I was holding my breath the whole time. For years I had hoped for those words to come out of Joe's mouth.

„But when I saw the look in your eyes I couldn't do it.“ Joe finished. Her eyes were still fixed at me.

„Joe. I realized many years ago that I can't compare your feelings for me with your willingness to have sex with me. Of couse I fantasize about you. Sometimes I just want to kiss you for just smiling at me. But I can assure you I'm not here, because I'm waiting for you to get bi or straight. And if I was I either am the most desperate or stupidest guy on the face of the earth, taking into account that I love you for over a decade.“

Joe's face lightened up with a smile. No more signs of tears. She took another deep breath

„You don't need to explain anything. I understand.“ I said. Now it was my turn to hug her. I felt so much relief that we sorted this out.

„In moments like this I wish I was straight, too.“ Joe whispered in my ear.

„OK, enough of this thouchy-feely-stuff!“Joe suddenly shouted and pushed me playfully away. We both smiled. „You're lucky you had the car keys, because otherwise I would be in the next strip club by now.“

„You are such a lesbian!“ I joked with her. „What is our next stop?“

„I don't care. We could stop by your Dad's securing the boat for later or we could get a little rest at my place. My mom will not tolerate if you don't stop by.“ Joe listed the possibilities.

I opened the door and we got into the SUV.

„Not a bad day after all. We both can cross two things from our to-do-list.“ I said to Joe.

„What are you talking about?“ she looked at me confused.

„A foursome and twins.“ I smiled.

A smile lit up on Joe's face but faded pretty fast. „Three things for me.“

I turned my head and looked into Joe's eyes.

„A foursome, twins........... and a guy. A very nice one. I'm lucky.“ Joe looked into my eyes and smiled. She leaned towards me and kissed me. „Thank you.“

Suddenly a honking sound passed just left to the car. I immediately looked back at the street and realized I was driving in the middle of the road.

„And they're saying women are bad drivers.“ Joe started laughing.

They arrived at an intersection.

„You distracted me. Now we have to decide where to go. Your mom's or my dad's place?“

Do we stop by my Dad's or do I bring Joe home?
