A Lonely Father | FerAng | 4

You slowly rise from the chair, still hugging her in your arms, and finally look up into her deep blue eyes... "Thank you, Vicky... I think I needed that." you tell her softly, leaning in and planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"So... you're okay...?" she wonder, giving you a worried smile.

"Really... Thanks a lot." you repeat, hugging her again before you let her go. "I'll try to keep my eyes open from now on."

She just smiles at you as you walk to the door. She seem a little less worried about you now at least, even though there's still some glimpse of concern in her big blue eyes.

"And, Vicky...?" you ask her as you're just about to leave the kitchen, looking back at her over your shoulder. "If I ever miss something important again, like a beautiful woman getting on to me, could you please tell me about it? I might still be a bit rusty after all these years..."

"I promise!" She laughs. "But I won't chose someone for you. Just tell you if I see or hear something."

"Thanks!" you reply, for the third time this morning, as you head for your own room, leaving your daughter alone in the kitchen.

Back to your room?

          Yes, back to your room.
