The flight ended at Dulles and Ron had to tranship his luggage. It was only one suitcase and he waited at the baggage carousel until all the luggage had been claimed. He waited until the carousel was completely empty. He sought the assistance of the Airport staff but there were no more cases to be found from that flight.
He filled in the necessary documentation for the airline, to chase his missing bag. An airport official came over, excused himself and asked. "Are you Mr Ron Jones?" Ron wondered what the man wanted. "There is a telephoe call waiting for you sir." Ron was intriqued he followed the man back to the office.
The caller spoke with an English accent; "Are you the person who bought an old book at a village fair last week?"
"Yes, what of it?" Ron demanded.
"I am afraid the book was in the sale by accident," said the man lamely.
"Well, I'm sorry it is in my luggage, and my luggage has gone missing," he felt annoyed with the man.
"How would you like it if I could tell you where to find your suitcase."
"I would love that, could you helpme?" |
