Ron had heard all the stories relatig to witchcraft, he had also read about "The Witchfinder General" and the records he had kept about the witches he had trapped and the evidence given against them.
He was sure that the so called witches were just old women who had to make ends meet so that when young maidens desired a certain young man as her lover, they could resort to the knowledge and expertise of the old women to cast a charm for them.
He had visited England for his vacation and had visited a village fair. He was drawn to a bookstall, and on that bookstall he found a book which had recorded all the calls that the witches and wizards had used in casting spells and summoning the "Other One".
He stood and read the ancient text, he was enthralled at the information that book contained. He asked the old man how much he wanted for it. The old man answered, "I do not have much time left in this life and I feel that you will be able to make great use of this ancient knowledge."
Lightning crashed and great torrents of rain swept across the field where the fair being held. Everyone dashed for cover, and in a short while the sun was shining again but there was no sign of the old man.
