Darkness returns to Middle-earth | thesorrow | 2

"Come now, Caramir." said a voice from the back of the room. "You may be
the Steward of Osgiliath, but Eldarion is King." It was Aravaan, brother of the King,
and Prince of Gondor. "Not all these reports are unfounded. There is proof that the
Orcs are mustering once again in the Misty Mountains, and a shadow lay over Mordor!
What say you to that?"

"I say let's not make any rash decisions. Orcs have ever been a problem, even when
your father ruled. They still sing the songs of when King Eomer and your father rode
into battle against the remnants of Sauron's hatred in Rohan. Are the Orcs that much
of a concern?" Caramir replied.

"I do not suggest that the whole of Gondor and Rohan come down upon the Misty
Mountains, but rather let the Dunedain or the Ithililen Rangers set a watch upon
them, so we might discern what or who is causing this newest disturbance."
Eldarion said.

"I concur." said Dorvaran, son of Faramir and Eowyn, and also Prince of Ithilien
and Captain of it's Rangers. "Let a watch be set upon them, and that way we
may destroy them if need be."

"O, very well then!" said Caramir. "I just don't think that there is much to worry
about."

"What of South Gondor?" Eldarion asked, ignoring Caramir.

"The work is nearly complete, and the few that dwell in Near Harad have done
nothing to hinder it." answered Beren, Lieutenant of Gondor. "The river Poros
has been recently forded, but they eluded our forces ere they could be held.
For whoever it was to get through, it must have only been one man, lightly
burdened."

What next?

          A sudden intrusion.
