Darkness returns to Middle-earth | thesorrow | 1

It is the year 145 in the fourth age of Middle-Earth. After the death of King Elessar,
his son Eldarion toik the throne of Gondor. At first, things seemed peaceful, but
a great evil was preparing to unleash it's fury upon the free peoples of Middle-Earth.

It was in early summer of the year when strange reports began to come from the
outlying provinces of Gondor, as well as from Rohan. Some say that a darkness
lay over the desolation of Mordor, abandoned since the fall of Sauron. Others say
that darkness was once again deepening in Moria, Khazad-dum as the Dwarves
call it. Some said that the foul Orcs were multiplying again in the Misty Mountains.
Scouts were sent to investigate these disturbances, but when they returned they
brought conflicting answers. The only sure thing was that Orcs were in fact
multiplying in the mountains. After all had returned, Eldarion call the first council
of Gondor since the death of his Father.

"Let this council come to order." said Derthrond, Herald of Gondor.
"King Eldarion has called this council to discuss the actions we should take in
regards to the strange reports that have been delivered as of late."

"Thank you all for coming, first of all." Eldarion said. "There is great rumour of
Darkness in Middle-Earth as of late, and we, as guardians of the realm, should
be the ones to do something about it."

"About what?" asked Caramir, Steward of Osgiliath. "What action should we
take against unfounded reports of nonsense?"

How does the King react to Caramir's harsh words?

He doesn't get a chance to.
