You hear your mother walking down from upstairs. For some reason, you duck under the table just as she walks by the kitchen, towards the door. She opens it and you hear a man speak to her, “So? Is the bastard at home?”
“No, my son isn’t at home. I’ve checked all the rooms, no sign of him, he must be out with his friends.”
“So we can get on the business then?”
“I suppose so…” You then hear the man steps into the house, and the door closing behind him. You see the your mom and a man walk pass the kitchen and hear them go up the stairs. You recognize him immediately – her boss, Walter. Quickly, you sneak to the bottom of the stairs, just in time to see the two of them enter her bedroom. |
