It's mating season in Neopia.
For about a week, all neopets over 1 year old can mate at this time. Females have the best chance of pregnancy (though it's not a sure thing), and release a scent that most males find irresistible.
Most females, while in heat, feel like they need to mate, and pretty much follow any male they see. And the males are usually only too glad to relieve them of it. Some males help the female take care of the child or children, while others pretty much say that they don't want anything to do with the kids. A few only have one mate in mating season, while others have many.
These, and other choices, are the choices three pets will have to make. Three siblings, a brother and two sisters, live with their owner.
Furfront is a male Christmas Usul, and the oldest of the three. Since he's 2, he already mated last year, and wants to experience more of it this year. He looks like a squirrel that can stand on 2 or 4 legs, has small elf ears on his head, and wears a hat with a bell. He also has some yellow fur around his neck.
Sunshine is a female Striped Kacheek. She's old enough to mate for the first time this season, though she was born before the previous season. She probably the one between her and her sister that know the most about mating season, and what happens. Sunshine looks a little like a mouse, and walks on 2 legs. Her fur is light blue with purple stripes, and her ears are pointy and hang down the side of her head. She has a long furry tail.
Poogle_Six is a Yellow Poogle, and the youngest. Despite her age , she is old enough for her first time as well. Despite this, she's basically clueless about mating season. She knows about mating, but nothing about what it means, or the consequences. Poogle_six has ears similar to sunshine's , though they point out more. She walks on 4 legs, and has yellow fur, with some light brown stripes on her back Her tail is nothing more than a stub.
