See if you can at least get some pokeballs
After catching your breath you engage the Prof once again. You make a deliberately long winded case about how the least he could do is get you started with some ultraballs. He seems surprised and questions you about how you know what an ultraball is. You realize from his question that he will probably be a lot more pliable if you impress him with your pokemon knowledge. Being who you are you probably know more then the Prof himself does.
You rattle of the names of several balls. Then you get into dragon pokemon, their care and breeding. Then you drop serious knowledge about HMs and TMs. He says that he had no idea that you had studied so much. He also hinted that he was dubious about some of the information you spouted.
Nevertheless he takes you to a mail room and hands over an ultraball and a pokeball. You fake some gratitude. He does not make you an open invitation.
