Kitana moved around so that she stood below the window through which Tifa had been abducted, and soon found footprints in the muddy ground.
“Aha!” Kitana exclaimed triumphantly and began to follow the trail, leading north from the tavern.
The rain and the muddy ground combined ensured that it was far from a challenge for Kitana to trail Tifa and her abductor, the tall warrior moving quickly through the night, into the woods that laid beyond the tavern.
These woods made Kitana weary, for there was something sinister about them, they didn’t smell or sound like usual.
Even the sound of small animals and birds moving sounded wrong somehow, as though she was being watched.
Kitana drew her sword, and pushed on, now having more difficulties in following the trail as the undergrowth became more dense.
Her focus on the trail was ended abruptly when someone calmly said “Hello” from behind her.
Spinning around instantly, baffled over how someone could sneak up on her, Kitana brought her sword up and spread her legs in a defensive stance.
Roughly twenty feet from her, in the a ring of sickish green light, stood a robed man, with the hood down so that she could see his face; a cruel looking one with a straight nose and cold blue eyes under cropped black hair.
Next to the man was Tifa, hovering in the air, still unconscious.
“What have you done to her!?” Kitana screamed as she tried to leap forwards towards the two, but finding that she was unable to move.
“Nothing… and nothing will be done to her either. She is merely a way for me to ensure that you fulfil my wish.” The man responded, his voice cool and collected.
“What!? Why should I!?” Kitana couldn’t believe the arrogance of this man.
“It’s simple…” the man said and then snapped his fingers, making Tifa disappear, “she will not return to this world until you’ve done my bidding.”
“You swine!” Kitana was fuelling with rage, her eyes filled with hate.
“Flattery will get you nowhere… do you accept the offer I have given you?”
“Alright wizard, you win... for now.” Kitana literally spat out the last words, lowering her sword arm to signal her acceptance.
“Tell me what it is that you want.” She added, her eyes still glaring hatefully at the robed stranger, who returned her glare with a mocking grimace.
