It is hard for you to wait any longer. You don’t really need to be shown around since you have seen this city in an HEP. What you really need is to get to know people.
The only way to find him is to look him up in a database in your Icer. You take it out and search for him. It doesn’t take long for you to find a few matches. You select the one which you recognize and his profile appears. It is all here and what you see startles you. Ibrahim Maqsood. That is his name. The name you know only too well. You stare at your Icer. A thought comes to your mind. You search in the database for all the people in the world who share that name. There are millions so you narrow down the information more towards the tyrant whom you know only too well. After narrowing it down to 5 people, the picture of this Ibrahim Maqsood is still present. Now you think about it he fits in the description of that monster almost perfectly.
You make a decision. Now that you know who your primary target is you have to act quickly. His number is in the Icer and since the Icer has a phone installed into it so you call him.
After a few rings some one picks up phone “Hello”
“Hi. I was just wondering if a person by the name Ibrahim Maqsood lives here. Could I speak to him” you answer
“Hold on a sec.”
You wait a few minutes before someone answers “Hello”
“HI. I was just wondering if you could come outside for a minute?” you say
“Sure, but who are you?” he asks
“Once you come out you will know.” With that you shut your Icer.
The door of the house in front of you opens. You are not surprised; since you made sure you stood right in front of Ibrahim’s house. Ibrahim walks towards you.
“How did you know who I was, where I lived and what my telephone number was?” he asks.
“There is very little time to explain. You have to come with me this instant” you reply. He may be in danger, you know it. There is something going on here and you must find out quickly.
“But...” he is about to say something when three men come into your view.
“Hey look, its him!” The one of the men says
“Boss lets grab him now and get it over with” another one says
“Now that you have shouted out that we have no choice but to grab him.” The seemingly leader says.
“We have to go quickly. They are after you” you tell Ibrahim
“What do you mean they are after me, I haven’t done anything. It is more likely you..” he speaks but you talk over him
“I just cam from the future. Something only I was aware of, and that too only partially.”
“Boss did you hear what the other one said?” one of the men asks
“It appears we are going to escort 2 brats, not just one.” The leader says. He takes a gun out and points at Ibrahim. “Come in quietly and you wont be harmed.”
You turn around and draw your gun quickly. You select the disarm bullet.
“Why do you want me?” you ask
“Our general was waiting for you”
“And exactly who is your general” you ask, not daring to believe who you think it is.
“He trusts me with most of his secrets. My name is Jacob, a name that you might have heard before, Chris!” the leader says enthusiastically “and these are a couple of people from this … place.”
You swiftly turn around and pull the trigger. A White flash appears and the weapons the three are holding dematerialize
“You, now I know what is going on!” you say “Ibrahim, RUN”
“Don’t let the brat get away, and make sure you don’t hurt Ibrahim. Consequences of mistake is death!”
You 2 run as fast as you 2 can. “Follow me” you tell Ibrahim.
You take a route with lots of twists and turns. Soon an old mansion is visible.
“We can;’t go in there” Ibrahim tells you.
“Yes we can” you pull out your Icer and select an option. Then you place the Icer next to the key hole and the door clicks open
“How did you do that?” Ibrahim asks
“Like I said I am fro the future. Now get in quickly”
The 2 of you enter the abandoned mansion and you lock the door behind you.
“I know this place” Ibrahim says
“What! How do you know when kow one else does?” you ask
“My ancestors that came to this country built this house. Soon after that they sold it to a wealthy merchant. I have been here once before. Follow me there is a secret room here” he whispers to you.
You could walk into every house in the Icer, well except for this one. This is why you said that. Ibrahim leads you to a room.
“There should be a trapdoor somewhere here.” He tells you. You walk around and when you walk in a corner the floor thuds. It doesn’t take you a long time to find a hinge. You pull on it and a trapdoor opens. Using the ladder underneath the door you climb down. After he has followed you, you close the trapdoor. Using your Icer you illuminate the room. It is a small circular room, with a table in the middle. On the table is a cushion, upon which rests a black sphere.
“The earth star” Ibrahim gasps. He goes over to the table and picks up the sphere.
“What is this?” you ask. It makes ou feel ashamed that Ibrahim knows something you don’t.
“A magicfied object, one of the many rare ones. This is the most powerful one.” He replies
“Ok now you are making no sense” you say
“Magic exists.” He says
“Then prove it”
“I well…” before he can complete his sentence the trapdoor bursts open. You put your hand to your pocket but to your horror the gun is no longer there.
“So you finally have been caught” the three men are above you. The leader, who spoke to you, is holding your gun in his hand. ‘How on earth did he get it’ you thin “I found your gun in this house. Its quite a fun toy don’t you think”
“Ibrahim” you say
“I can’t. I just can’t.” replies knowingly
“You must” you say
“I swore” he is about to say something but you cut him off
“This is a matter of life and death” you cut in
“You are right” he says. “Does anyone among you know what this is?” he asks the men, holding the earth star in front of him.
“A marble which you are going to toss at us.” One of the men says
“Its” he starts to glow red slightly “EARTH STAR!”
Both Ibrahim and the earth star start glow harder. The men retreat a little, not knowing what is going on.
The glow increases greatly and then without a warning it leaps in to the air and collides with the men, who hit the ground motionless.
“Are they dead” you ask
“I am afraid so. I lost control over my anger.” Ibrahim tells you. You hear him give a dry sob.
“It isn’t your fault. We have to search them for clues.”
You walk over to the men. You pick up your gun ad examine it. “My gun isn’t damaged”
“Well I destroyed their souls, not their bodies.” He tells you
“So can you just kill anyone?” you ask
“The star takes some of my power, my magical power. If it finishes I die.” He replies
You search through the men and find several things: their wallet, keys, a mysterious card, binoculars and a piece of paper. You look at it and discover that it has missions written on top of it.
“Looks like you were the primary target” you say
“Let’s just get out of here”
“Don’t forget the earth star”
“I won’t”
You and Ibrahim walk out of the mansion.
“What now” he asks you
“Well”
“Well what?”
