A Future of Chaos | evilkicks | 2

Though you may be excited about meeting your parents the thrill will be over soon. They will not recognize you and you since you have known them only for the first 5 years of life, you will not recognize them either. Following a stranger would be a bad idea since you don’t know what it could lead to. On the other hand meeting your guardian would be most probably profitable. Even though she may not recognize you, you might recognize her. You could be friends and you know she will be a very valuable friend, not just loyal but also brave and hardworking. Even if she doesn’t have these characteristics just seeing her will encourage you and give you more strength.

You walk towards where her house is located. It is hard to find since you have only seen it once in an HEP (holographic environment projector). After your search which takes about an hour you find the house (which is large). Something is wrong; all the lights are turned off. The garage is empty but you sense an unpleasant feeling. You know Jane isn’t in her house yet you can sense her nearby (you were taught many things by Dr. Jane Blacksmith and judgment sensitivity was one of them. You could ‘feel’ those whom you possessed a strong feeling for when you concentrated your mind on them; you felt their pain, joy and the other emotions as well).

You turn around and head for the secondary school. On the way you hear a dry sob. Looking around you notice a part of the bushes which seems to be thicker than the rest. Walking silently, you move towards it. There is no mistaking, you can hear a sob. You move closer to the bush and can tell it’s a girl. You push the bushes apart and see a girl crying. You freeze in your movements; the girl is no other than a 19 year old Jane Blacksmith. Yet she is different, she is extremely beautiful and really fit, even when she is crying her beauty is unmistakable. As soon as she sees you she flings her arms around you, crying on your shoulders. You don’t have a clue what to do as you have never even shaken the hand of a girl around your age.

Suddenly she pulls away with a frightened look in her face, she seems to want to be anywhere but here yet she can’t move. Neither can you. Finally she is able to speak “I-I’m r-really s-sor-ry” she stutters. “I thought you were someone else”

“Um it’s okay” you reply. “Who did you think I was?” You ask though you know the answer.

“Claire Barber. She is my best friend. You look kind of like her” she seems to regain some of herself. “But you are also very different. I don’t know how I confused you 2.”

You almost tell her that you are her son. You stop yourself from saying that and instead say “You don’t have to worry about anything. What is your name?” You ask her this to get a conversation started.

“Jane. You?” she asks you

“Chris” you reply

“Are you new here?”

“Umm yeah” You answer

“So umm…” she trails off

“Why were you crying” you suddenly ask

“My boyfriend, he ditched me just now. He wanted to make love with me but I wasn’t ready. Now he has gone off to get another girl” She tells you.

“Well you made a very wise choice. And in the long run this will help you a lot”

“Really? How?” she asks you uncertainly.

“Your old boyfriend never liked you, he only thought of you as a sex tool. Now you will know when someone really likes you when you meet them” You blurt out, not meaning to say any of this. Indeed only a few hours ago you didn’t know what you just said.

However she smiles at you. “Thanks” she says shyly and to your embarrassment you feel yourself going red and are thankful that its night time. You two talk more and more and after what seems to be only a few minutes Jane looks at her watch and exclaims “wow. We’ve been talking for hours. I should get back home.” After a second thought she says “but I don’t have to go. My parents are gone to my aunt’s house for several weeks, leaving me home alone. By the way, where do you live?”

“Umm actually I don’t. I just came here today so I haven’t got a place. My parents, well lets just say they are in no position to house me” you reply before you even think about it. Being with Jane Blacksmith makes you feel very relaxed.

“Then send the night at my house. How about it?” she says. Apparently she wants to help you in any way you can since you cheered her up

This is a complete mess. You can't just go into the houses of those who you have just met for a sleepover. You are about to decline when you see her smile, and have second thoughts. What should you do?

Should you accept her invitation or decline it?
