In a panic and on the verge of tears, Amanda notices a deep blue sedan parked on the side of the road. Two young men sit on the front seat, smiling at her. She decides they must be friendly, so she opens the back door and jumps onto the seat.
"Drive, please, drive!" Amanda orders breathlessly as she reaches over to slam the car door. The car takes off.
Amanda sighs with relief, although she's a bit disgusted with the amount of fast food containers littered about the vehicle. She notices the boys in the front seat smiling at one another. They must be nice fellows.
"Whew, thanks."
"Is this a carjacking, little lady?" the driver asks over his shoulder.
Amanda laughs. "Oh, no," she says in her lilting southern accent. "Ah just thought... oh never mind. Can you boys give me a ride?"
"Absolutely," the passenger says, turning to face her with a smile... |
