“I don’t think I could ask any of them, I would be way too embarrassed!”
“Well, if you want, I could ask someone for you. I just need to know who to talk to.”
“I doubt that Andrea would agree. She would probably have a problem with the whole idea and I really don’t need that, so I would have to say Jess would be my pick. She already knows that I am still a virgin. The others don’t know and she has never held it against me. Some people like to make fun of people for waiting, but she isn’t like that. I don’t know if she will be interested or not, but I do know that all of us think you are pretty hot.” Liana was blushing furiously by the time she stopped talking.
“OK, Jessie it is. I will find time to talk to her alone and let you know what she says. Why don’t we get dressed now and go back to the beach. The other girls are probably already waiting and it is getting close to midday anyway.”
We quickly dressed and headed back toward the beach. The trees kept the undergrowth down and make for fairly easy walking. I used my knife to mark tree trunks along the way so that everyone could easily find their way to the falls. We arrived back at the beach to find a small fire burning and some fresh fruit piled up. There was also a nice sized pile of deadwood close at hand. Mandy, Andrea and Jessie came walking back into camp carrying some stuff that had been washed over the reef with us. I was glad to see that my tackle box and a first aid kit were among the items. After looking through the stuff that they had found, I told the girls the news about being stranded on this island and the reef that could be seen all the way around it. They were all upset by this news and I wanted to offer them any comfort that I could. Andrea told us that the boat, or what was left of it, had settled on this side of the reef. I was kind of upset with her when she said that she had swam into the boat to recover some of the stuff they had brought back. After all, she could have been trapped inside.
“There is more stuff that we can get off the boat, but I couldn’t get them all by myself.” Andrea said defensively.
“I’m sorry if I snapped at you Andrea, but the thought of you being stuck in there and drowning scares me. We have already lost too many people on this trip.” I replied and gave her a hug.
“I marked a path leading to a small waterfall and a clear pool we found.” I said pointing out the path Liana and I had used to return to camp. You girls might as well go get cleaned up while I see if I can come up with a little bit better shelter. I have a feeling that storms hit this area fairly often and I don’t want to be out in one like yesterday again.”
After the girls left, I got to work cutting some trees for supports, using the hatchet that I kept in my tackle box. I also found some good vines to tie the structure together with. By the time the girls returned, looking refreshed, I had the basic framework laid out. They all pitched in to dig holes to set the legs in and helped me tie the frame together. It was basically a small hut.
“Liana, Mandy and Andrea, why don’t you three start gathering materials for the roof while Jessie and I work on the walls. The three of them started off into the woods and I decided to feel Jessie out about Liana.
“How are you holding up?”
“I’m OK I guess.” She replied with a shrug.
“Liana told me that she was pretty scared about being trapped here for who knows how long. I can understand her feeling that way, so I figure the rest of you are a little scared too. Is there anything I can do to help you with it?” I asked, watching her closely as I waited for an answer.
“I’ll admit that I am kind of scared, but I don’t know what you can do to help. Do you really believe that we will be stuck here for a long time?”
“Unfortunately, I really do Jessie. I’m not sure that we will ever be found. If they don’t have any idea that we came this way, we may just be presumed lost at sea. In that case, we will probably spend the rest of our lives here on this island. I didn’t want to bring up that possibility, but since you asked, I felt you should know.”
“Thanks for being honest with me. I have been thinking the same thing myself, but didn’t want to let myself believe it.”
“How close are you to Liana?”
“We are fairly close, why?”
“She asked me to talk to you about a rather touchy issue and I wanted to see how you would react to her request.”
“What seems to be the problem?” Jessie asked with genuine curiosity.
“You know that Liana is still and virgin. She told me that. I not sure if you know that she doesn’t want to be one anymore. Liana wants me to take her virginity and I don’t have a problem with that. The touchy issue is that she wants you to help me teach her so that she won’t be so nervous about it. So, the question is, what do you think? Are you willing to help me?”
Jessie was quiet for quite a while. I kept watching her as we worked on the walls. The other girls came back before I got an answer. We all went to work on the roof and before long we had a perfectly serviceable shelter. It was getting on toward evening, so I decided to go back to the pool and clean up before it got dark.
While I was relaxing in the pool, I heard someone coming up the trail that was quickly forming. Jessie came into view looking thoughtful.
“What’s up Jessie?” I called out to her.
“I need to know something. Were you serious about wanting me to help you out with Liana?”
“Yes I was. Look, I am a healthy man and I know you are all healthy young women with your own desires. As we discussed earlier, we may be here for a long time. I care a great deal for all four of you. I won’t push the issue with any of you, but I know the issue will come up sooner or later. I just don’t want to offend anyone. As far a Liana is concerned, it was her idea for me to ask you, so it is up to you.”
“Then my answer is……..” |
