Aaralon's Discoveries | moonblack | 11

"What were you thinking, boy?" Asked the Grand Magus, his voice showing anger and annoyance. "What were you thinking?"

"I… don't understand…"

"I'm talking about Tar'Oth!" The voice snapped. "I'm talking about the demon you summoned! What were you thinking summoning her just like that? There are hundreds of hidden demon detection spells all over the College. Did you think you could just take a book and summon a demon?"

"But… I took precautions…"

"Silence!" The voice interrupted. "Precautions! Ha! Every single student here who dares to try and summon a demon takes precautions! Do you really think the mages that cast the ancient spells didn't take into consideration any 'precautions' the College's students could make? Do you?"

Aaralon opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out as the realization hit him. He finally realized how foolish he had been to think he could hide his actions just like that. He had been a fool to think he would succeed where so many before him failed.

"I see you are beginning to see the truth." Noted the Grand Magus, his voice showing that he is pleased. "Good. But fear not, boy - your actions are known only to me, for I hid your activities from anyone else who could detect them."

"You… did?"

"Yes. It took all of my power and skill, but I managed to keep your summoning a secret."

"W… Why?"

"That you need not know. Suffice to say I have my reasons. Now the question is: what to do with you?"

What will be Aaralon's fate?
