Band of Adventurers | ArsenalXIII | 8

Shifting her stance away from Kassi, Elewyn gave Janno a more appraising look, placing her hands on her hips. "Are you familiar with Whitehall?"

Janno watched her positioning cautiously, still not fully trusting her. "Whitehall? That's an elf city."

"That's correct," Elewyn said, "and every year it sends an emissary to Sangasio to renew the alliance between those two peoples. Yet this year the emissary did not make it."

Kassi and Janno both looked shocked. "You mean, the goblins..." Janno said, incredulously. He could hardly believe that such creatures could pull off something so brazen.

"All evidence seems to point to it. The emissary's entourage was found dead and scattered with numerous goblin corpses around them. Of course, I do not think they worked alone, but tracking the goblins will in any case lead us closer to the emissary." Elewyn then smiled, "The elves of course are in an uproar, and Sangasio has completely emptied itself of fighting men to contribute to the search. As I was passing through I thought I might cash in on the reward myself."

'There goes any chance of finding more party members in Sangasio,' Janno cursed inwardly, and then spoke up. "So you're trying to do a rescue mission alone? That doesn't seem very wise to me."

"Oh?" Elewyn raised an eyebrow in response.

"It's different from hunting or assassination. You can't always rely on the person being rescued to be in a condition for a speedy escape, so you need to at least have enough strength to push off some sort of counterattack. Going alone is just asking to be pinned down and killed, no matter how skilled you are." Janno said matter-of factually, crossing his arms.

Elewyn grinned. "So? Are you suggestion that we ally ourselves on this mission?"

Does Janno want to make the alliance?
