After sending several texts back and forth the two of you agree to meet for a late lunch on Sunday. When you get home you fall asleep moments after your head hits the pillow. On Sunday you wake up late, quickly get ready and then drive out to meet Stephanie at the restaurant.
Stephanie looks good even when she's not trying. Today she has dressed up and looks great. Unlike most girls at school that doesn't mean her breasts are popping out of her top or her skirt is going to cause traffic accidents. No, Stephanie is wearing nice, conservative clothes - she's just wearing them well.
During lunch you start talking with Stephanie about yesterday's game, her cheerleading, various friends from school, family and other things. The conversation continues all through lunch and you take Stephanie to a nearby mall. It's only when she has to go to the bathroom that you realize how long the two of you have been at it. That's when you realize Stephanie hasn't spent the whole time talking about herself or brought up celebrity gossip or fashion. Another difference from many of the girls you've dated at school.
At one store you notice Stephanie looking over a display of hair pins and hair clips. They look nice and you offer to get her one. She blushes and acts embarrassed and you realize that since her parents didn't let her date until recently this is probably the first time a guy has offered to buy her a present. Stephanie lets you buy it after a little convincing that yes, she is worth it. Even after that she still asks for one of the cheaper items in the display.
You talk her up a bit and get her a shiny brass and silver hair clip called a barrette. She lets you put it on, though she's almost vibrating with energy. When it clips on she spins around and gives you a big hug and a kiss. "Thank you , you're really a great guy." The way she's acting that clip might as well have been a solid gold and diamond necklace.
Stephanie finally calls this date to an end, saying that she's had a great time but has to get home soon. Outside you get another hug from her and she asks "Please come and meet my parents tonight. It will be fine, really." |
