Senior year at college | kucerakatie | 3

Cara’s face turned bright red at Ms Karcott’s question. “There’s no one, really. I need to get going, I have another class in a few minutes.” Cara got up quickly and gathered her things, she was embarrassed by her feelings and not sure how to tell her teacher or if she should even tell Ms Karcott.

“Cara, if you want to talk, please call me.” Cheryl said. The older woman then stood up and grabbed one of her cards off her desk. She quickly scribbled a number on the back and handed it to Cara. “This is my home number, you can call me any time and we can meet after school if you want. We can talk, or you can talk and I’ll listen.” Cheryl then wrapped her arms around Cara and gave the younger redhead a warm hug.

“Thank you Ms Karcott.” Cara stammered unsure of what she should do. Cara felt the attraction to her teacher rise during the hug, but she was scared that Ms Karcott was just trying to be helpful and caring. If Cara revealed her feelings to her teacher, it may cause the older woman to react negatively and make Ms Karcott less friendly to her.

“Anytime, and please, call me Cheryl when we are out of the classroom.” Ms Karcott smiled at Cara.

“Ok Ms Karcott, I mean Cheryl.” Cara said as she left her teacher’s office. Cara felt like there was a mutual attraction between the two, that Ms Karcott was attracted to her as well but she wasn’t sure. As she walked to her next class, Cara flipped over Ms Karcott’s card and looked at the number, wondering if she should call Cheryl later.

Does anything happen the rest of the day? Does Cara call Ms Karcott?
