A Marvel(ous) Experience | bobbobbobthethir | 17

You block his attacks and launch your own, but both of your shields hold fast. This is quickly approaching a deadlock. However, after some careful observation, you notice that his shields flicker and disappear whenever he launches a bolt of energy- and you decide to exploit the flaw in his shield.
The moment he fires a bolt, you return with your own, and it just manages to slip by his shield, and hits him. The official grunts, stumbling backwards, his shield disappearing temporarily, and you call down a torrent of fire.
The massive inferno surrounding him burns away at his flesh, although he desperately tries to block off the flames. It seems to be useless, however, and the fire burns across his bare skin. He is now on the ground, skin blackened and weakened, his eyes blank, hollow shells.
From the utility belt you have decided to wear, you toss in a small explosive and detonate it, exploding his body. The ground is scorched and black, a tiny crater where the official’s body once was.
You enter the plane, and prepare for take-off instantly. Seconds later, the engine roars to life, and you speed down the runway, lifting off of the ground. You head westwards, towards Africa, and you encounter nothing at first.
Only an hour later, as you are approaching the border of Chinese airspace, you spy on your advanced radar system that there are jets headed towards you. Since you’re not flying at full speed, you ramp up the speed to maximum.
Your plane was not designed for combat, but for transportation, and so your stealth and weaponry capabilities mean that you will only be able to defeat the jets with great skill and luck. You think for a moment, and then make a decision.

What is your decision?
