Knight | No.Eight | 18

Most guards will patrol the corridors, but you know that won't work. An assassin will be too subtle and will dodge any obvious defences. If you are to outwit the assassin, you must be just as subtle as they are.

You wait in the darkness. After Lord Swinn has gone to bed, you sneak into his room and sit in the corner, where the shadows are deepest. He doesn't wake up. For hours you sit there. And then...

A movement at the window. There's a figure there, and somehow the window is opening, even though it should be impossible to open it from the outside. The figure lands silently in the room. A knife is drawn, glinting in the moonlight from outside. It is raised over Lord Swinn!

You make your move. Just as silent as the assassin, you glide across the room and, with a single blow from your gauntleted fist, knock them out. They go down like a sack of bricks. Lord Swinn still doesn't wake up. You have a feeling he might be a little deaf. Either way, you quickly heave the assassin onto your shoulder and make an exit. He never need know how close it came.

You've got a plan. Protect Lord Swinn? That's easy. Stop his enemies from ever trying again? Now that's more difficult. He'll pay handsomely if you can manage that. You need the assassin to talk.

You bring your captive back to the room you're sharing with Fae, who is currently asleep naked on the bed. As tantalising a sight as it is, you know you really need to deal with the assassin first. You turn to the captive and realise, with surprise, that it's a woman.

And not a bad looking woman at that. She is lithe and athletic, with average sized breasts, long legs and a shapely ass. Her hair is pitch black and cut shortish, reaching as far as her chin near the front but shorter at the back. She has very fine features, and you admire her looks as you tie her up.

When she wakes, blue eyes fluttering open, you bombard her with questions. You need to know who her employers are. But she's far too professional- nothing you say or do seems to make a difference. Looks like you'll have to try a different tactic.

How do you get her to talk?
