Escape From Monster Island | techtactic | 5

You decide to take your chances with the desert. After all, the woods look close and besides, you’re Abby! The Unbreakable girl! Nothing can stop you. Besides, odds are the oasis was just a mirage or worse, guarded by a monster. And with your little combat training and current state, trying to defeat it would be suicide. You square your shoulders and continue on your way, travelling across the burning sand with your head held high and a willful and determined expression on your face.

This state does not last long.

The sun is withering and punishing, refracted down upon you like God’s punishing hand holding a magnifying glass. Sadly, you’re the ant. Your skin grows red beneath the glaring rays, and your tongue swells up as if in a desperate attempt to find some moisture in a mouth that has become as dry as the sand on which you struggle. Yet nevertheless the woods never seem to grow any closer. In fact, they always remain a distant goal to your footsteps, only for it soon to become the same to your crawling form as it slinks across the desert like a lizard, too dehydrated to even attempt to walk across the ever shifting sand.

Your mind begins to go shortly after. You forget your name, then your mission, all the world becoming encompassed in that distant prize of the forest. But you never reach it. The heat kills you shortly afterwards, your flesh providing a fair meal to the buzzards which eventually descend from the sky like reaping angels, picking you clean and leaving your bones to bleach beneath the very sun which ended you.

No one ever knows what becomes of you, and the sand eventually claims your body beneath its earthly waves.

Bad End
