After her demonic slave got her off, Caitlin discussed with him her options. Whilst not the prize catch she’d hoped for, a demon under her control was useful. She asked Gloshen about her plan of going back to Hell undercover as a slave with him, Whilst apologising for being unworthy of her and insignificant Gloshen explained why that would be a poor choice of action. Gloshen wasn’t established well enough to get her into a powerful Hell Lord’s court yet. Going to Hell with him now would be a fruitless exercise.
However, if Gloshen improved his name by selling a high-quality slave to the right bidder, then maybe that plan would become viable. Caitlin agreed and told him to take Mistress Karkova back to Hell with him and send the profits back to her. Caitlin felt no sympathy for her former lover, Karkova had been arrogant and weak. She’d allowed herself to fall to Gloshen’s powers and almost doomed Caitlin to a life of mindless slavery. An unconscious Karkova was taken by Gloshen back to Hell, where she would be turned into a slave.
Later Caitlin would explain to the rest of the coven that Mistress Karkova had left the realm. Her tale was full of half-truths, implying that Karkova had left Earth of her own free will rather than as a mind-fucked slavegirl. The other coven members had known about Karkova’s experiments with other realms and had no reason to doubt Caitlin’s version of the truth.
As the deputy to the former leader, Caitlin was next in line to take over the coven, to which there was no dissent. All the other members knew of Caitlin’s supreme potential and were happy enough to let her lead for now.
