You step through the doorway and the light rushes up to meet you. You find yourself standing in a lush green field on a pleasant sunny day. Off in the distance you see man and women walking, lying on the ground or sitting quietly either alone, in pairs or in groups, all naked. You realize that you, too, are naked, but you do not feel embarrassed by this.
As you watch a girl approaches you. She is perhaps in her late teens with short hair, small breasts and a face that, while cute, is of about average attractiveness. “Welcome, ” she says.
“Is this Heaven?” you ask.
“Yes” she says.
“I honestly did not expect to end up here.” you say.
She smiles “Few who do expect to, do.” She says “Humility is a virtue. But why, may I ask?”
“Well” you say “I had an awful lot of sex, and I really enjoyed it, and I thought that was frowned on.”
“Why would you think that?” she asks “God’s first commandment to humanity was to ‘be fruitful and multiply’ which, given that He created them male and female would have required sex. The problem comes when people place their own gratification before that of their partner or objectify others and, according to our records, you never did that. You always sought to give your partners as much or more gratification than yourself and always used sex as an expression of love to intensify your bond with others. In fact you have, during your ‘awful lot of sex’, improved the lives of many people.”
“But doesn’t God hate …”
“God is Love. Those who love and act out of love receive His blessing. All those labels you humans place on each other, all the worries you have about gender, orientation, marital status, and the like mean nothing to God. If you act out of love He is happy.”
“Wait” you say “you said ‘you humans’. Aren’t you human?”
“No,” she says “I am an angel. I am aware that I do not appear as you might expect but my true form is even less like your expectations and would only frighten you. I chose this form as the least threatening, I can change it if you wish.” |
