Hollow man | yoyo1342 | 8

Being both the one who is facing the nearest window, and the one who is most anxious to move from the library to the bar, you are the one to note that the sun is going down. You casually suggest that maybe you should head to the bar and Kate and Meryl don’t seem inclined to argue. The three of you pack up your stuff and head for the exit to the library. You’re amused at the difference in your perspective from this morning when you all got there. You hadn’t been at all certain that there was any good reason for you to accompany the girls to the library, but thanks to your little episode with Kate, things were definitely looking up. And hell, you’d spent the day reading a book for leisure, which you hadn’t done in years, so there was that too.

As the three of you hit the street, you walked just behind the two of them as they talked about their studies from the day. You kept one eye on Kate’s behind and fantasized about watching that butt sway intoxicatingly and intoxicatedly in to your apartment. Kate looked back at you and clearly caught your stare as she winked back at you. You mind flashed back to the sight of her in her bedroom, and you resolved to buy a round of drinks as soon as you got to the bar.

You walked a little faster and stepped in between the two of them. They were talking about some academic stuff that interested you, so you asked some questions. That led to Meryl and you talking for a little while, which was more than you’d talked all day. Of course, as soon as you pivoted the conversation towards less serious topics, and tried to get Meryl to open up, she reverted to silence.

You briefly wondered what it was that Meryl liked about Kate, and how they got along. At the moment, the boisterous and easy-going Kate seemed like an odd friend for the reserved and slightly haughty Meryl.

You get to the bar that the girls had in mind. The bar itself is sort of a faux-dive, where everything is nice and well decorated, but made to look like it’s not. It’s fairly crowded and loud, but the music is good and Kate and Meryl’s friends, who got there before you, have managed to wrangle a table.

Who is everybody?

          Meet the friends...
