Hollow man | yoyo1342 | 8

Being both the one who is facing the nearest window, and the one who is most anxious to move from the library to the bar, you are the one to note that the sun is going down. You casually suggest that maybe you should head to the bar and Kate and Meryl don’t seem inclined to argue. The three of you pack up your stuff and head for the exit to the library. You’re amused at the difference in your perspective from this morning when you all got there. You hadn’t been at all certain that there was any good reason for you to accompany the girls to the library, but thanks to your little episode with Meryl, things were definitely looking up. And hell, you’d spent the day reading a book for leisure, which you hadn’t done in years, so there was that too.

As the three of you hit the street, you walked just behind the two of them as they talked about their studies from the day. You keep one eye on Meryl’s behind and fantasize about watching that butt sway intoxicatingly and intoxicatedly into your apartment.

You were snapped out of your reverie by Kate chatting you up a little bit. She asks you whether you had a favorite bar and what your favorite drink was. When you explain that you didn’t get out to bars much, and mostly just had a bottle of whiskey at home that you sipped on, she volunteers that she loves to do Irish Car Bombs, but that that usually results in her getting completely hammered.

As she is talking Meryl casts you an ironic glance from behind Kate. You briefly wonder what it is that Meryl likes about Kate, and how they got along. At the moment, the boisterous and easy-going Kate seems like an odd friend for the reserved and slightly haughty Meryl. That said, you didn’t know either of them very well, and you had to admit, you already had good reason to think that Meryl wasn’t quite as reserved as she seems.

You get to the bar that the girls had in mind. The bar itself is sort of a faux-dive, where everything is nice and well decorated, but made to look like it’s not. It’s fairly crowded and loud, but the music is good and Kate and Meryl’s friends, who got there before you, have managed to wrangle a table.
