A Weekend Job | smlfox | 2

Charlotte, the head of the program, seems very anxious to meet with you. "Richie gave you such a wonderful recommendation, and he doesn't do so lightly. We're in desperate need of a male to help us. How soon can you come in for an interview?"

"Well," you think for a second. "I can come at lunch one day, but most of my week days are filled with classes and work. I'm usually done by about 4:00, though, if that's convenient."

"4:00 this afternoon it is, then." She says matter of factly before spouting off the address as you scribble it down frantically. "Don't worry about dressing up or anything, we'll keep this very informal."

Awe struck by the how suddenly this is all happening, all you can manage to say is "ok, thank you."

"Great!" Charlotte exclaims. "We'll see you at 4:00."

As you hang up the phone, still awe struck and totally unprepared for an interview, you realize that you have to be in class to help Dr. Gammond administer a quiz to his Intro to Psychology class. You grab your things and rush down to the classroom.

After class, you inform Dr. Gammond of your conversation with Charlotte, and he chuckles. "She's like that sometimes. When she needs something badly enough, she'll do whatever it takes to get it."

As he walks away, you ponder what he means by that. The rest of the afternoon goes by smoothly, other than the linger thought of Dr. Gammond's tone when he said "she'll do anything."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4:00 arrives quickly, and you arrive at the office where Charlotte told you to meet her. When you walk in, you are given an extremely jovial greeting by a woman in her mid-40's. She introduces herself as Charlotte and leads you to her office.
