"Sure, why not? I've nothing better to do on a Saturday night," Jack thought aloud.
"Well don't let us put you out or anything, Mr. Bryant," Kim teased.
"Oh I didn't mean it like that. I meant to say that it would be a pleasure to join you lovely ladies," Jack said as he smiled to Kim.
"Good, then you can pay, Dad," Emily said.
"I did not see that coming," Jack answered sarcastically.
At the theater they parked and made their way inside. The place was full of teenagers since it was a Saturday night. "You girls sure you aren't embarrassed to be seen with your old man," Jack asked.
"We're cooler than these kids," Kim said, "so it's no problem."
Emily told the kid at the ticket booth what movie they were seeing and then Jack stepped up to pay. Then he followed the girls to the concession stand and bought them drinks and candy. Plus he ordered a large popcorn for them to share.
"You girls are expensive dates," Jack said, "no wonder you wanted me to come along."
"We're worth it," Kim said. Jack caught her giving him a playful look, but then he caught the look Emily was giving her. He made a mental note to try and stop flirting with Kim. He knew she was wilder than his daughter, and he was afraid she might be more than he could handle. Judging by the look on his daughters face, Jack thought she might be afraid of where this might go.
By the time they made it to the section where their movie was and entered, the lights had gone down and the previews had started. It took a moment for Jack's eye's to adjust, but then he saw how crowded the place was. Luckily the young girls could see better than he could, and they led him to a few empty seats in the back row.
