As you stare back at him suddenly realising that this is one of the infamouse desert nomad tribes, sworn to torture and kill all who trespass in "their" deserts, and that there is every likelyhood that he will attack you now! For a few seconds you stare up at him, totally at his mercy as he stands over you with his long curved blade still dripping sand snake blood onto the fine white sands of the desert. Even after hacking all the way through the snakes thick neck and spine the blade is still visibly as sharp as the razor you use to shave with every morning.
Suddenly the nomads whole body shivers and his nerveless fingers drop the sword in his hand which barely misses impaling your thigh to stand quivering in the sand beside you. He collapses to his knees beside you, his whole body shaking now. His eyes rolling above the mask that keeps the rest of his face hidden from the sand and outsiders he groans softly. "I... am poisoned... In my pack... Antidote... But I will be... Delerious... You have saved me... Once. Please... Give me the antidote and... set up the tent... to protect me from the coming storm..."
With that final request the nomad collapses to the side shaking and twitching in the full throws of the sand snakes poison. Rushing over to the nomads pack you rifle through it finding a collapsed tent of fine leather, unleavened bread, a flask of water, a small glass vial with a green liquad in it and another slightly larger glass vial with a redliquad in it. Which is the antidote? Looking up at the clear sky the packs contents scattered around you, you wonder why he says there is a coming storm... Still better to be safe rather than sorry, the nomad has probably forgotten more desert lore than you ever learned...
