18-Year Old Bitch | dkburrows | 3

Jessica stood by the side of the road for what felt like hours, waiting for someone to come along and pick her up. The road remained deserted, and the sun began to sink beneath the horizon, but not before a dark mass of clouds surged across the sky and began to unleash a torrential downpour of cold rain.

With nowhere to hide Jessica huddled at the side of the road, wishing that she'd delayed leaving for another day and wondering where she'd sleep and if she'd freeze to death.

Just as the sun disappeared and the rain came down even harder a set of headlights appeared from far on down the road. Scarcely daring to breath Jessica waited for them to get closer, finally realizing that they were coming from the opposite direction from which the first car had come.

For a moment she hesitated, knowing she'd have to decide quickly or miss the opportunity. Should she cross the road and flag down the vehicle or hope that one comes that's going in the right direction?

Flag down the vehicle or take her chances?
