You look around, wondering what could possibly be in this huge, seemingly ancient library. Miss Parker seemed very serious about protecting her books, and while you're still wondering what she meant by booby traps, you know well enough from your adventures here that she is not lying. There are books from all ages here, some neatly binded and recently published, others are worn down with the color fading from the pages.
Perhaps there's a secret to defeating Miss Parker buried in one of these books? Your mind can't even begin to wonder where to even begin looking. And there is not much time before one of her assistants comes to try and make you come.
Looking through a bookcase near you, you browse the titles of the books, picking some up before putting them back, always being careful so as to not harm the books. But as you're putting one book back, which was so old that you could not even make out the title, you hear a door slamming in the distance. It breaks the dead silence that was held for the past few minutes, and it startles you so much that your drop the books right to the ground. You curse as you helplessly watch the pages of the book break off of their archaic binding and scatter about the floor. Not even ten minutes in and you've managed to fuck up and break a rule. |
