The E-mail | daciasdesire | 4

Ray was struck by a stroke of genius that would easily find out the source of the email and save any potential embarrassment to himself by confronting the wrong girl. Last year Ray had had all employees in the company sign a document saying that their email and internet usage could be monitored after a particularly nasty virus had wiped out a large portion of the company database before it could be stopped. The employee responsible had been using the company's server to download porn after hours and thankfully had come forward and resigned of his own freewill. This thankfully saved Ray the unpleasant task of firing him. Even though the virus probably set the company back a whole month Ray still didn’t like sacking someone even when they deserved to be.

Ray got up from his desk and headed out of his office. He stopped briefly at the desk of his assistant Allison, which was just by the door to his corner office, to tell her that he was one his way to the IT department and to contact him there if there was any urgent matters that required his attention. It was not often that he had reason to visit the IT department so he made sure to be especially warm in his greetings of the workers in that department. Greg, the head of the IT department, was an absolute genius as far as it went all things computer related. Since he was hired he had streamlined much of the company's internal systems increasing productivity between departments almost threefold.

With the same courtesy he expected, Ray knocked on the door to Greg small office and waited for him to be called to enter. The office was the picture of organised chaos with monitors and various other computer parts covering almost every available surface. Ray had employed Greg in such a senior position straight out of college and thus saved himself nearly fifty thousand dollars a year on the salary an experienced and possible less competent IT professional would command.

"Hey Greg. How's everything going with you?" Ray enquired as he entered.
"Excellent thanks Ray. The system upgrade to deal with the increased traffic the company website is getting should be completed a week ahead of schedule," Greg began.
"That’s fantastic news but not the reason I'm near."
"Okay, what can I help you with," Greg asked straight to business.
"I'm trying to find the sender of an email someone in the company sent me this morning," Ray explained.
"Not another one of Brian's limericks was it sir?"
Ray chuckled at Brian's reputation proceeding him. "No, nothing like that. It's bit of a personal matter though so I would appreciate your discretion though."
"No need to say anymore. I'll open up the mail tracking file and leave you to your own devises," Greg said as he finished the task he was working and opened a new programme before leaving.

Ray assumed Greg's seat at the desk with him gone and started to search for the identity of "watcher".

What does Ray discover?

          The source of all things.
