You stand up and look at the women for a moment. They all look back at you, expressionless, as if observing your behavior. You look at both doors, then back at them to see whether you can gauge some sort of reaction. There is none. After considering both options, you begin to settle on the left door. This is odd, you think. I'd best find out as much as I can about this whole thing so that I can plan an escape. You clear your throat, then speak.
"I think.." you begin, "I think I will comply. I mean, how bad can it be if everyone's as pretty as you ladies are?" You smile, but they do not smile back. After a few seconds, Kendra smirks at you, folding her arms. There were whispers among the other girls. "I knew he would submit!" Kendra held up her arm, shushing them.
"Very well. You have made the wise choice, and your life will be far more comfortable after you have completed training." She grinned, cracking open the door for him. "Now," she said. "Just walk through and begin your new life. Be sure to obey any directions you receive promptly. Your training will be much smoother if you do."
You walk through the door, tentatively. You wait for one or more of the women to follow you, but they do not. On the other side of the door is a small, circular room, not much bigger than a bathroom. There is a chute on one side of the room and no furniture. A camera is mounted just above eye level, with a loudspeaker next to it. The door closes, and you can hear the lock latch as it does. Suddenly you are alone. There is no escape. The loudspeaker crackles to life with a blast of static.
"Greetings boy." The voice is female and pleasant. "Please remove your clothing, place it in the chute and then face away from the camera." You stand there for a moment, perplexed, not complying. Finally you speak.
"Why do I have to.." There is another blast of static as you are cut off.
"Compliance with instructions is mandatory. I will not say this again. Remove all your clothing and place it in the chute, then face away from the camera. Noncompliance will result in unpleasant consequences. Do as you are told. Do not speak again unless spoken to."
You shudder nervously, suddenly wondering whether you had made the correct choice. You begin to strip slowly, removing your shoes and socks and tentatively placing them in the chute, listening as they apparently drop far down into the abyss. The speaker crackles again.
"You have five minutes to fully comply with instructions or face consequences."
You look up at the camera, perplexed and somewhat defiant. |
