Sven Galley was an ordinary antiques dealer living in Master City, until the day he came into possession of the Eye of Emm'Sie, a mystical talsiman that gave him the power to control the minds of others.
Whil some might have given in to greed and/or ambition and used the Eye for evil, Sven instead put it to a nobler use; fighting crime and getting laid (often at the same time, due to Master City's suprisingly large number of sexy female crooks). As Hypnoman, Sven battles everything from curvy cat-burglars and magnificent mob-queens to ravishing rogue scientists and gorgeous galactic dictactrixes.
At first, Sven worked alone, until his priggish brother sent his lovely but equally uptight daughter Gail to live with Sven while she attended college. While hypnotizing her to ensure she wouldn't get in the way of Hypnoman's work, he discovered that the strait-laced girl was in fact a closeted lesbian, repressing her deires because of her prudish upbringing. From that day forward, whenever Sven went forth as Hypnoman he placed Gail under a trance that removed her inhibitions and granted her superhuman strength, allowing her to blossom as Somnambulass.
