Tom parked his car in his friend Mitch's driveway and headed for the front door. Tom had just gotten back into town after his first year away at college. Mitch, who had also just gotten back from college at a different school, called a bunch of people from high school to come over for a pool party since his parents would be away for the weekend.
Tom reached the front door and rang the bell. After a few seconds he heard the thump of feet inside and Mitch answered the door.
"Hey dude." Mitch said.
"Hey, I brought beer." Tom replied, holding up the case in his hand.
"great, let's put it in the fridge." Mitch said, taking the beer from Tom and walking into the house.
"Fine by me." Tom said following Mitch into the house.
Mitch set the case on the counter in the kitchen, opened it and pulled out two beers. He gave one to Tom and then put the rest of the beer in the fridge.
"Let's head out to the pool." Mitch suggested.
"Cool." Tom said and they walked through the sliding glass door out to the pool area.
Both of them sat down, cracked their beers and began to catch up after a year away at college. After a while of this they heard the back gate to the fence open and both looked to see who it was. |
