"...be my undead bride," he asks.
"What?!?" She looks up accusingly. "Weren't you just talking about a romantic 'first true love story' a page ago?"
"He just asked you to marry him," you reply. "What's more romantic than that?"
Matt looks up, trying to figure out who Rachel is talking to. Seeing no one, he shrugs and continues his spiel.
"You will join my harem of vampiric lovelies, forever young and beautiful, making love and draining the blood of the innocent. It will be glorious!" Matt pauses, trying to dredge up another cliche with which to tempt Rachel.
"I can't be a vampire!" she wails at you.
"I'm over HERE," Matt says, looking miffed. With his supernatural vampiric charisma he's not used to being ignored. Worshipped, feared, even beaten up when he runs into the occasional vampire hunter, but never ignored.
"Why not?" you ask Rachel.
