Strange Days | Crow365 | 6

"Uhhh...kinda', Mom," John said, trying not to offend her too much.

Kathy laughed nervously. "It's okay, sweetie," she said, turning to go back to the stove. "Most teenage boys don't like seeing their mother in any state of undress."

John didn't want his mom to feel ugly or unpretty in anyway -he did think she was very attractive for her age- but felt too self-conscious to say anything. He riffled through the morning newspaper that sat on the table and grabbed the comics, reading those while he ate his breakfast.

Just as he was finishing up, his sisters, Kelly and Stephanie, came downstairs in their usual school uniforms (all three siblings went to the same Catholic high school, St. Andrew's): plaid kilts and white blouses. He said "good morning" to them while their mom served up their scrambled eggs and bacon, and John headed upstairs to shower and dress for school.
