John could tell from the vague outline and the singing that it was his mother, Kathy. She was a fairly petite woman, with shoulder-length brown-auburn hair. John thought she was almost a clone of the actress Patricia Heaton; who, the first time he'd seen her on the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, he had almost mistaken for his own mother.

He stood there for a few seconds, just watching his mother's body, still fairly firm for the ripening age of 45, as she moved under the warm spray of water, cleaning herself.

 

What does he do?


          Get out.

          Get in the shower with her.
