John could tell from the vague outline and the singing that it was his mother, Kathy. She was a fairly petite woman, with shoulder-length brown-auburn hair. John thought she was almost a clone of the actress Patricia Heaton; who, the first time he'd seen her on the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, he had almost mistaken for his own mother.
He stood there for a few seconds, just watching his mother's body, still fairly firm for the ripening age of 45, as she moved under the warm spray of water, cleaning herself. |
