Sexquest: The Legend of the All-Bearer | Sixth | 5

After just a little thought you head swiftly off down the fortified path.

You're confident in your logic. Yes; there are likely to be people at the end of this path but they're civilised to build fortification and master fire for the torches - that would rule out, for example, a tribe of bugbears. You've heard stories of those shaggy humanoids. Huge. Hairy. Dangerous predators with a knack of sneaking up on young woman such as yourself.

Another important point; whoever built these fortifications were trying to keep something out - and that something is more likely to be down the other path.

All in all - taking the fortified path seems to make the most sense - and so you set off deeper in to the mountain.

Keeping your wits about you, you make certain to walk carefully, not stepping on any of the wooden remains that lay strewn on the tunnel floor, making certain you keep to the side of the tunnel wherever possible and checking as carefully as possible behind each new fortification before you step past it.

This caution pays off. Moments after you've peered around a wooden wall that covers half the tunnel and then snuck around behind it you hear a snuffling.

The sound is coming from behind you. It's coming from direction you've just walked. There must have been something behind you.

You're confident that with your back pressed to the wooden fortification that whatever it is shuffling around in the tunnel behind you can't see you. But can it smell you?

Do you wait, take a peek or sprint deeper into the tunnel?

          Take a careful peak
