Meet The Team | Glados | 3

As you consider taking advantage of the poor girl, your ears pick up the telltale chatter of an automatic weapon. Multiple barrels are accelerating to spew a volley of lead in your direction. It's an ambush. You throw yourself to the ground and scramble for cover as a hail of bullets shoots above your head. You roll along the grass and take cover in a nearby ditch, covering your head as the bullets scream overhead. Once in the ditch, you relax slightly and the hellish noise ceases. Only infrequent beeps sound out as the sentry guns seek another target.

Rather than peek over the crest of earth, you begin searching around in your pockets. You pluck out a three inch plastic shining sphere with a series of lenses inside of it and a small computer screen attached to a long, flexible metal rod. After tossing the ball over your shoulder, you grasp the screen and flick it on. It's your handy Remote Electronic Covert Observation Networked Evaluator, or RECON-E as you call it. With RECON-E's help, you are able to look in every direction from the sphere's location. You nudge a pad to the side and the sphere behind you leaps from behind a rock for a better view. A grim picture appears on screen: the Engineer has set up one hell of a welcome for you. No less than three automatic turrets swerve side to side, seeking a target. A tight spot, for sure, but you're been in worse. At least the turrets can't walk, you muse.

How are you going to get out of this mess?

          Surrender.
