Tharros | joachim | 9

The duo fell asleep in each other's arms, both of them sleeping deeper than they had in weeks.

Cailt was awoken the next morning by the sound of rain falling outside. The Southern Highlands were prone to severe rainstorms quite often, so he knew that this rain would let up in just a few minutes. Glancing down at his busty companion, the warrior slowly slid out of the bed, remembering that down the hall was a room he could clean himself up at.

He thought for a moment about getting dressed first, and then decided to hell with it. If whoever saw him couldn't handle a bit of nudity, then it was their own fault.

The water that he allowed to pour into the tub was warmed via the usual sophisticated means of a civilised city such as Tharros, so it meant that it was to get it to the proper temperature. As he cleaned himself up, Cailt's brain began to operate properly after sleeping so heavily.

Heading back to his room, he passed Jina, merely holding her robe in front of her body. Pausing briefly to give her a light kiss and a whispered "Thanks," Cailt got dressed and headed downstairs. The place was mainly empty, save for a couple of people waiting out the rain. Andreola, clad in a long-sleeved black blouse and skirt, greeted the archer with a mug of green tea.

"Good day, Cailt. Have a nice evening?"

"It was quite...relaxing," Cailt replied, pausing to think of how to describe last night. Taking the mug that Andreola was offering, he enjoyed a sip as he sat down in one of the nearby chairs.

"So, any plans today?"

"Well, obviously, getting something to eat is first on the agenda. Also, I need to stock up on supplies - " he gestured to his half-empty quiver, " - and start job-seeking. By the by, Andreola, would you know of a practice range? I try to get in at least an hour of practice with my bow a day."

"On Drake Street, there's a place known as the Kharani Academy. They primarily teach classes in combat, but they also allow people to rent out specific areas for periods of time. That's your best bet." Andreola paused to glance at the longbow Cailt had. Composed of redwood and ram horn, it was a very streamlined design. "Interesting design, that bow is. Erukian?"

"Oh, aye. I've found meself to be a bit more comfortable with this type. They prefer to focus more on distance with their arrows than accuracy." Opening his belt pouch, Cailt took out a few more coins. The pouch, which he'd picked up in a southern desert city of Semi, had an enchantment that only allowed Cailt access to the innards. "Could you extend my stay for a few more days?"

"Gladly. With nightly companions?" Andreola asked this with a slight leer to her voice.

"Let's leave that open for now, okay?"

"Gladly." Outside, the rain was finally dissipating.
