A High School Story | DruulEmpire | 3

You look up from the one asshole still down in a daze to see the other one run off clutching his nose, and that's when an odd memory pops into your mind. It's from the movie "The Time Machine," the classic one with Rod Taylor rather than the remake with Guy Pearce, in which Taylor arrived in the year 802,701 and saved Yvette Mimieux from a raging river, only for everyone else to look on in vague wonder at the very idea of saving someone. That's a little like how you feel now, as you're aware of the guys paying little or no attention, while there is distinct interest from several girls. However, this is better that 802,701 because you detect a glint of interest in some of the girls' faces, and in that moment you are tempted to pick one out from among them.

But first things first. You attend to you brown-eyed lovely. "You okay?"

"Sure," she replies shyly, happily surprised by your intervention. She swiftly picks some books back up and hugs them to her abdomen, managing to unconsciously make her bust all the more prominent. "You must be new here."

"Is chivalry so dead in Bayville?"

"I guess so," she replies with zero irony. "Sooner or later every guy around here seems to catch the cockiness disease, they just seem to think they're emperor of the universe. Something gets into them, I don't know what."

They may come unhinged somehow, surrounded all the time by so much hotness, you speculate, although you elect to say nothing.

She offers her hand. "I'm Addison." Her smile is splendid.

You shake and give her your name, and she very seriously repeats it, as if committing it to memory.

"Listen ... I've got to get to class, but I sure do hope I run into you again real soon. Thanks, and see you around!" She walks off, allowing you to admire her skirt and legs.

Enter the school now?
